Chizuru Yukimura is the main heroine of this story. She is the daughter of Koudou Yukimura, a Western medicine practitioner. One day, when her father stopped hearing from her, Chizuru traveled from Edo to Kyoto to search for him. However, an unexpected incident occurred on her way to Kyoto that landed her at the Shinsengumi headquarters. The Shinsengumi, having ties to Koudou, eventually agreed to let Chizuru stay at the headquarters and provide her with protection. However, as time passed, Chizuru discovered the truth behind the Shinsengumi, the Water of Life, and the secret behind her father's disappearance.
